Britt Jans-Beken reigns supreme in Overloon
Britt Jans-Beken (photo) has won the first competition for the Dutch Championship in the women's class. At the Duivenbos circuit in Overloon, the Lakerveld racing driver was supreme in both heats. Second place went to Cynthia Swets. She emerged as the strongest in both heats in a duel with Kaylee van Dam and Kimberly van der Aa, who finished in third and fourth place. Maren Ruiters (Germany) was far behind in fifth place. The Belgian Sanne Vounckx ended the day in eighth place in the shared daily ranking of the DAMCV and the MON.
First heat
Jans-Beken took the hole shot ahead of van der Aa, Swets, Vouckx and van Dam. In the first round Jans-Beken immediately managed to take a lead over van der Aa. Ruiters managed to take fourth place from Vounckx. Behind Jans-Beken, a battle for second place broke out between van der Aa, Swets and van Dam. Swets passed van der Aa in the second round. There seemed to be no problem for Jans-Beken to win the heat. However, she made a small mistake in the third round. This reduced her lead, but she was away in time to retain first place. Jans-Beken quickly outpaced Swets again and took the heat victory for Swets. In the fifth lap, van Dam had also passed van der Aa and she crossed the finish line in fourth place ahead of van der Aa. Ruiters also passed Vounckx on the fifth lap and finished the heat in fifth place.
Second heat
Once again Jans-Beken was the fastest ahead of van der Aa, Swets van Dam and Julia Blatter (Germany). In the first lap, Ruiters passed Sina Brenner (Ger), Johanne Ghöhlich (Ger), Vounckx and Blatter and finished fifth. Jans-Beken again quickly took a lead of 15 seconds. Behind her there was again the battle between van der Aa, Swets and van Dam for the places of honor. The course was almost identical to the first heat. Swets quickly took second place and van Dam passed van der Aa again on the fifth lap. Jans-Beken won the heat with more than one minute ahead of Swets and van Dam. Van der Aa, who made his debut in this class, finished fourth again. On one lap, Ruiters was again the best German. Vounckx was in sixth place for almost the entire heat. However, in the last lap she crossed the finish line in tenth place.
