Bax/Stupelis are once again glorious winners of the GP sidecars in Oldebroek by heat-winning!
Etienne Bax and Kaspars Stupelis also managed to win the second heat in Oldebroek and thus deservedly won the Dutch sidecar cross Grand Prix in Oldebroek with full points scored. Willemsen/Rostingt also did well again and came third, which, together with their second place in the first heat, had earned them enough points to take second place on the day's podium. Vanluchene/Van den Boogaart finished second in the final heat and this result allowed them to climb onto the GP podium in third place after their fourth place in the first heat. Due to the dominant victory of Bax/Stupelis, they will now leave Oldebroek alone as leader with a 10-point lead over Vanluchene. Due to his good performance in Oldebroek, Willemsen has now risen to third place in the World Cup standings.
The second heat looked like a copy of the first at the start, but Brown was not immediately outpaced by Willemsen at the start. Santermans immediately dropped out due to a mega crash at the start when he was tagged towards the first corner and lost driver Beleckas and therefore suddenly flew into the fences at right angles.
Everything continued as normal at the front and Brown could not enjoy his first place for long. Quite smoothly, even in the first round, Willemsen passed inside Brown, where the combinations still touched each other, but everything stayed on track and both sidecars were able to continue, albeit with a change of position.
Unlike in the first heat, Bax/Stupelis and Vanluchene/Van den Boogaart were now directly at the front and before the first lap had ended they had also passed Brown/Chamberlain. Bax was in second place and immediately chased leader Willemsen, who had to recognize his superior in team Bax in the seventh minute of the match when they managed to take the leading position. of a race and at the end of the ride he crossed the finish line with a full twenty seconds of satisfaction. Vanluchene was on three for a long time and was attacking Willemsen enormously in the first half of the heat. He just couldn't get past that wicked Willemsen. Only in the 18th minute was Vanluchene able to pass Willemsen and then drive slightly away from his former tormentor, but Bax was nowhere to be seen by then. Willemsen held on to his third position and at the end of the heat he was followed by Hermans/Musset. However, Hermans got stuck and stalled the machine and was lucky that he was not outwitted by Veldman/Janssen who were ten seconds behind after another fabulous overtaking race after starting from the second row. However, everything remained as it was and Willemsen came in at third, Hermans/Musset at four and Veldman/Janssens at five.
Brown/Chamberlain then finished sixth and about ten seconds behind, Dierckens and Sanders stormed in in seventh and eighth place.
Now Van Werven/Beunk should have been there too, but they had to deal with machine trouble and unfortunately they were eventually able to continue their way and ended up thirteenth, but seventh position was just in the offing and so it was again It's a shame for team Van Werven who keeps chasing the bad luck devil.
The Swiss brothers Cuche, riding increasingly better in the sand and ninth in the first heat, also dropped out of the top ten in the race. Baking artist Maxime Cuche seemed to do a strange handstand that somewhat resembled a corkscrew and he suddenly fell out of the bin with a somersault. He was barely able to avoid being hit by the oncoming sidecars behind them, but a good result was lost.
Giraud/Haller had a bad start in the early stages but, partly due to the antics of Cuche, they managed to reach ninth place.
Jake Brown rode a solid race and was able to cross the finish line in tenth place.
There were also points in this heat for Keuben/Rietman who rode from behind to 14th and had a bad day because in the first heat, while in a good top ten position, they got stuck in a deep rut. More points were in store for team Keuben, but it didn't seem like it was meant to be. Kops/Lambrechts finished 15th after having a lengthy battle with Mulders/Van der Wiel who would finish 17th.
