Five minutes with Jago Geerts & Ben Watson
Valkenswaard is a special race for the Monster Energy Kemea Yamaha Team – which has its home base in Genk, Belgium. There are only 50 kilometers between the workshop and the Eurocircuit. “Lommel is of course our home GP, but you can safely call Valkenswaard our second home race,” says team owner Hans Corvers. Many fans, sponsors, family and friends of the team members will attend this Grand Prix. Unlike last year - when it snowed and froze - the weather forecasts are now ideal.
Iago Geerts :”I live in Balen, barely half an hour's drive from Valkenswaard. Although it is not in Belgium, you can safely call this race a kind of home GP. There will be a lot of friends, family members and fans in the Netherlands to cheer me on. That is an extra motivation. I love riding in the sand. My goal? Top five. But then I have to make fewer mistakes and I also need two good starts.”
