Reactions after BK/ONK Enduro Holten
This weekend, the Belgian and Dutch enduro riders were finally allowed to enjoy themselves after a winter that was far too long! The first ONK and first Belgian Championship competition were held simultaneously in Holten (Overijssel) on Saturday. We collected some responses.
Matthew Vanoevelen, GasGas
“I am very satisfied with this victory. The new Gas Gas 300 runs fantastic. I feel really good on it and have been able to completely customize the bike.” Matthew, who played for the Sherco Academy last year, signed with the GasGas factory team last winter.
Thierry Pittens, Husqvarna
“I competed in a new class for the first time on Saturday. The hard work was rewarded with a nice first place in the E3 class. I also managed to win the Scratch. Very happy with it! Thank you to my sponsors. On to the next match!

“Falled twice in the first round. I wanted to drive too neatly and in the end that turned into a very messy lap where I was far behind. I had to regain my concentration, let go of 'neat driving' and just enjoy riding a motorcycle. That mindset was good and I was able to get back a lot of time. I went home with a good feeling. Lucas Dolfing simply rode very well and hard, and deservedly won. Second place is great considering how far behind I was after the first lap.”
Antoine Magain, KTM
“Last week I fell during training and injured my shoulder. There was some doubt as to whether I could start here in Holten. On Friday during the reconnaissance I could barely raise my arm and I was quite scared of this tough competition. To ultimately finish 2nd, I am quite satisfied with it given the circumstances. After all, the season is long and these are very good precious points!”

“I would have liked to sign for this in advance. After a mandatory rest period of 4 months due to the complicated fracture of my collarbone that I suffered at the end of last year, I had few expectations. I have only been back on the bike for only 3 weeks and therefore miss a lot of rhythm on my new Beta 350. In the beginning I made a lot of mistakes, but throughout the day I grew into the race. My Last 3 specials were also the best of the entire day. So the condition is good and I am satisfied with that. I have been training with Sven Verbruggen since the beginning of this year and this is already paying off”

“What a tough day that was. Still, I am very satisfied with my first top 10 place scratch. The start of the day went really well with top times, but the day was just a little too long for me. Too bad I had to give it up in the last 3 tests, otherwise there would have been more in it. I am looking forward to Mettet with full conviction.”
Andy Truyts, Beta
“Yes, I could almost have started in the first minute in Mettet. That's a shame somewhere. In the first test I had difficulty finding the rhythm, but afterwards it went really well. I had a great feeling on the beta 300. This was also due to my times. It's a shame what happened, but now I was able to show myself and I liked the Dutch sand!”

“I switched from the TM 300 2T to the TM 450Fi for this year. I actually only had a few training hours on the new bike, but I still went to Holten with a good feeling. The first round took some getting used to, but it got better and better in the second round and I even won a test. In the last lap it rained heavily, but I felt good! In the last round I even won all the tests in my class. A great start to the season!”
