Mitas launches new TERRA FORCE-MX cross tire!
In recent years, Mitas has systematically increased its presence in motocross. As a result of Mitas' R&D, the brand is launching a completely new TERRA FORCE-MX line of competition tires. This competitive rubber will be available from April 2019!
“The Mitas TERRA FORCE-MX line is intended for both professional and amateur riders looking for high-level performance. It replaces the previous motocross competition offering and was developed in collaboration with many professional motocross riders on different tracks and different types of terrain. The new line is offered with three different tread patterns: TERRA FORCE-MX SAND, TERRA FORCE-MX SM and TERRA FORCE-MX MH to meet the demands of all riders and terrain types,” said Ksenija Bitenc, director of the Mitas Motorcycle Tires division.
TERRA FORCE-MX SAND: motocross tires for sandy and extra soft terrain
The rear tire has a semi-paddle construction with a wide row spacing that ensures maximum cleaning. Large center lugs provide traction and the side section layout provides excellent cornering, while the outer block treads provide superior traction.
The front tire has a skimmed center profile that acts as a paddle to clear sand and provide traction. A sharp paddle design with a reinforced shoulder supports a hard landing after jumping with sharp knobs in the central part ensuring longer tread life. The compound has a high hardness and does not soften during racing.
TERRA FORCE-MX SM: motocross tires for soft to intermediate terrain (SM – Soft / Medium)
These tires have a tapered ascending knob design that works its way through soft ground for traction. The tall well-placed knobs are attached to the base for reinforcement with a longer lifespan. The connection is softer than the one used in the SAND version.
TERRA FORCE-MX MH: motocross tires for medium to heavy terrain (MH – Medium / Hard).
The rear tire knobs provide maximum traction on all terrain applications with a specific surface as well as a new tread that provides a perfect balance between stiffness, reliability and long-lasting performance.
The tread pattern and wide spacing between the central knobs ensure maximum traction even in changing terrain conditions and give maximum speed and control. The front band buttons have an arrow-shaped layout and the side buttons provide precise direction. Grip on more difficult terrain is mainly achieved by the type of tread figures and a higher filling of the contact surface. The connection is softer than the one used in the SM version.
