Jeffrey Dewulf back in the game!
In Matterley Basin we only saw Petar Petrov and Mattis Meersschout in action. This weekend, however, KTM North Europe Racing will be in full force because Jeffrey Dewulf will also be riding in Valkenswaard!
The West Flemish sand specialist was prescribed a few weeks of rest after he hurt his wrist in Le Touquet. In the meantime, 'JD' has been back on the bike for a while. “Well, starting straight away again in a GP is not ideal, but that's the way it is! It's a shame that Axel was canceled, of course, although I think the new date is very positive for the club and the riders. In principle I could have already driven Matterley Basin, but we still chose to wait a week. I would have ridden there with very few training hours on hard tracks and this way I still had a week to dot the i's and cross the t's physically," says Jeffrey.
Although Dewulf has often shown that he is certainly worthy of the top 15 in sandy Grand Prix, he remains cautious about his first MXGP of the season. “Taking office when the competition is already well established remains a challenge. I don't have any expectations right away, we'll see what the weekend brings!”
