A perfect start for Jorge Prado
The first Grand Prix of the season was won by Jorge Prado-Garcia. The Spaniard managed to win both heats. The KTM rider won both heats ahead of pole starter Thomas Kjer Olsen. The podium was completed by debutant Mitchell Evans, who created satisfied faces at 114 Motorsports. Last year the French team was on the podium here in Neuquen thanks to Hunter Lawrence. The best Laaglander is Calvin Vlaanderen, the Honda rider crosses the finish line in fourth place in both heats. Jago Geerts (11-6), Davy Pootjes (10-10), Bas Vaessen (14-13) and Brent Vandoninck (17-17) also managed to score in both rounds.
The first FOX Holeshot Award of this season goes to Rookie Vialle, followed by his teammate Prado-Garcia and Henry Jacobi. Immediately in the first lap Prado takes the lead and then continues to increase the pace. Vialle sees Jacobi pass on the third lap, but halfway through the race the F&H rider loses second place to Kjer Olsen. The Dane is four seconds behind the leader at that moment. However, the Spaniard is not surprised and wins with a 16 second lead over the Husqvarna rider. Jacobi is third, followed by Flanders and his Honda colleague Mitchell Evans. Pootjes crosses the finish line in tenth place ahead of Geerts, who started the race well, but after ten minutes of the race he crashes. The Yamaha rider is eleventh, Vaessen already crosses the finish line in 14th and Vandoninck is 17th.
2e some
The best start in the second round goes to Prado, followed by Vialle, Evans, Ben Watson and Vlaanderen. Not the best start for Kjer Olsen, but the tall Dane quickly moves into second place! His gap to leader Prado is then almost five seconds. Once again they are unable to connect and Prado-Garcia also wins the second round in South America! Kjer Olsen comes second ahead of the very strong Evans, who now manages to keep HRC rider Vlaanderen behind him. Jacobi has now had a poorer start, but the German can fight his way back from fourteenth place to fifth! Geerts crosses the finish line in sixth place and Pootjes is again finished in tenth place. Vaessen now crosses the finish line in thirteenth place and Vandoninck is now also good for 17th place.
This championship will come to Europe in three weeks, when the points will be distributed at the Matterley Basin circuit
