NEW CATEGORY CLASSIFICATION
A lot of news at MCLB for 2019, starting with the new category name. The MX2 and MX1 classes will be abolished and will be replaced by 250cc and 500cc, with the main change being that the 250cc 2-stroke machines will from now on be divided into the 250cc class, which is open to 2-stroke machines from 100cc to 250cc and to 4-stroke stroke machines from 175cc to 250cc. The 500cc class is open again to 2- and 4-strokes of more than 250cc, which will certainly cause a number of shifts.
The Masters category will also be abolished and all Novice classes will become open classes (i.e. for 2-strokes from 100cc and for 4-strokes from 175cc) and classified based on age. For example, the Novices 250/500cc Open is open to riders from 19 to 24 years old, the Novices A Open for riders from 24 to 28 years old, the Novices B Open for riders from 28 to 41 years old and the Novices C Open for riders from 41 years of age. . Which in turn has led to many shifts among competitors and a number of newcomers.
To give young people more opportunities, the Quad category will also be redetermined by age, with the A class only open to riders between the ages of 18 and 31. All other quad pilots are divided into the B class, which becomes a nice mix of young talents and experienced warriors. The Quads are also pushed back in the timetable and are now programmed between the Inters and the Sidecars. The honor of opening the program is reserved for the Experts Open + Novices A Open, followed by the Novices B Open, the Ladies Open + Novices C Open, the Novices 250/500cc Open, the Leisure Riders, the Promising Riders, the Juniors 250cc + Nationals 250cc, the Juniors 500cc + Nationals 500cc, the Inters 250cc + 500cc + B Open, the Quads A+B and the Sidecars A+B.
