Aubin surprises, Coldenhoff fourth in Castelnau de Levis!
He is often on the podium, but Nicolas Aubin (OB1 Motorsports Suzuki) is by no means a frequent winner. Today, however, the Suzuki rider scored during the opening race of the French 24MX Tour! Glenn Coldenhoff, who fled to France after Axel's cancellation, scored a final podium.
Operation “competition rhythm” was a great success for 'The Hoff' despite the rain showers in Castelnau de Levis. In the first heat he finished second after fast starter Aubin after a consistent series. Aranda and Potisek finished third and fourth.
Jordi Tixier (VHR KTM) had fallen at the start in the first moto, but the ex-MX2 world champion took revenge in the recovery. He quickly took over from Aubin and never looked back. In the very last corner Aubin had to leave second place to Aranda. For Aubin, however, the spoils were won, his first victory in the Elite since Plomion in 2015!
Tixier's victory immediately gave him the upper hand over Coldenhoff, who had the same number of points in the final standings, but had to settle for fourth place in the second series. Glenn had a poorer start - just in the top 10 - in the second moto, but fellow brand Tixier was clearly the fastest rider of the day.
