Vintage Enduropale: Bad luck for Sven Breugelmans, victory for Rudy Vergriete
Unfortunately, the 2019 edition of the vintage Enduropale was not the day of two-time Le Touquet winner Sven Breugelmans! In terms of speed, 'den Breugel' was again the reference. The victory went to Frenchman Rudy Vergriete, who outpaced everyone with a Honda CR500, finishing second twice in the series.
Breugelmans had bad luck in the first series, which immediately put aside the hope of a new victory. Yves Deudon won the first series but could not make a difference in the second series in which he finished fourth. This way, Rudy Vergriete was able to end the match with a win. The second series was won by Sven Breugelmans, but he was put back ten places after the flag due to an illegal refueling. Dakar veteran Cyril Despres was unable to achieve an orderly result due to technical problems.
The Belgians Bjorn Verdoodt (162nd), Bernard Stennier (287th) and Nicola Stampaert (353rd) finished in the middle of the pack. Click here for an extensive photo gallery from our friends at MXvintage, the top website for everything about vintage and classic motocross!
