Davy Pootjes continues to build in Hawkstone Park
Davy Pootjes of the DigaProcross team finished in the top ten in the international competition in the British Hawkstone Park. The rider from Ammerzoden did not have an easy time because he had to ride his training motorcycle. Yet he managed to finish eighth in both heats and regained a lot of competitive rhythm.
In the first heat the race was flagged off in the middle due to a serious accident that required a restart. After the restart, Davy quickly had a good feeling on the track, but the engine lacked speed. He entered the final round in fifth place, but due to a minor crash he lost three more places and finished eighth.
In the second moto Davy had a similar race. “I had a very good feeling on the track. If all goes well, this was the last weekend on my training bike. It was difficult to compete with the riders with the factory blocks. Despite everything, I finished eighth in both heats, in a field full of Grand Prix riders. I'm going to Argentina feeling fit, now I just need a stronger engine," says Davy.
On the weekend of March 2 and 3, the first race for the world championship will be held at the Neuquen circuit in Argentina.
