CreyMert Racing starts the season in Hawkstone
The international race at the Hawkstone Park circuit has been on the calendar of GP teams and riders for many years. The Belgian CreyMert Racing took action with both drivers in preparation for the approaching season. Kevin Horgmo (14-11) finished thirteenth, his compatriot Hakon Osterhagen finished eighteenth (34-11) in the daily rankings.
Matches:
The tension was slightly palpable for Hakon, after intensive preparation he made his competition debut on the SX125. The starts went well for the talented Norwegian, but in his drive he made some mistakes, resulting in falls. He starts the first heat in sixth place, but due to two sliders he does not get further than 34th place. In the second heat he came out of the first lap seventh, after which he made a mistake. From 18th place, the student managed to fight back to eleventh place in the second half of the race.
The first heat is also difficult for Kevin and he crosses the finish line in fourteenth place after a reasonable start and a serious crash. The match goes better later in the afternoon. The FXR-clad motocross rider remains in thirteenth place for the first half of the ten-lap race. He then manages to increase the pace, allowing him to overtake two more riders and cross the finish line in eleventh place.
Due to his performance during the matches, Kevin receives an invitation to also play in the Super Final. There he has to compete against the best MX1 riders where he can hold his own for a long time. Ten is still in sight, but due to a crash, the Airoh-supported rider has to settle for 23rd place.
Next time:
The KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross starts on March 16-17 at the Axel circuit. A week later, Kevin's first EMX250 is at the Matterly Basin circuit.
