Yentel Martens looks back on Gurp TT with satisfaction
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Yentel Martens remained in contention for victory at the fifth round of the Championnat de France des Sables in Grayan-Et-L'Hôpital yesterday. Only in the last round did he have to bow his head to Nathan Watson.
Martens shot like an arrow from a bow and dominated the start of the match. In the second half he fought a wheel-to-wheel battle with Watson. Only in the last lap did the British Red Bull KTM rider gain the upper hand. The sixth and final round of the Championnat de France des Sables will take place on February 3 at Enduropale le Touquet.
Yentel Martens: “Gurp was a really nice race. Although I didn't manage to take the win, as a rider it's hard to be disappointed after such a performance. Nathan and I fought the whole time and we kept a fast pace. He had that little bit extra in the last lap, but I can't complain because I really gave it everything. I have to thank my team very much, everything went perfectly. My Husqvarna was great and our pit stops were flawless and quick. With two weeks to go until le Touquet we can really start looking forward to the race. Today I showed that I can go to the Enduro and that I can be a candidate for victory. Everything is running excellently and inside we have a feeling that we can show something special there. “
