New Supercross season, new game…
The players for motocross and supercross games are relatively thin on the ground. Yet Milestone ventures to create a Supercross video game series and an MXGP game series separately. What strikes us is that the “Unreal Engine” on which all recent Milestone motorcycle games such as MXGP Pro and the now Supercross 2 work, makes the game shine graphically again. Unfortunately, this is not matched in the game play compartment.
Graphically we cannot say much about the game, with the Unreal Engine Milestone uses the same graphics engine that also provides the graphical power in Fortnite Battle Royale, NBA Playgrounds, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds... So that is not the problem, but whether the game feels good is always the question and what do you expect when you play a motocross game? Are you expecting some kind of simulation or more of an arcade game? Because the latter is what “Monster Energy Supercross” is. Judge for yourself with the video below. Timing everything perfectly will certainly make you go faster, but landing a jump too late or already landing on the next ramp will cause too little damage in-game, apart from some loss of speed.
We personally still secretly dream of a game in which FELD, MXSports and Youthstream join forces. This is to create a “Super Career” in the game if possible. In which you start as a private pilot and, depending on your results, find accommodation with a team in Europe or America. The team then achieves its goals and continues to grow. It would greatly increase the 'replayability'.
