Jeremy Van Horebeek satisfied with beach racing debut!
His GP podiums in Lommel, Valkenswaard and Lierop prove that Jeremy Van Horebeek knows what to do in the sand. But no one knew how his first beach race would go, not even himself! In the Gurp TT, however, 'the Jerre' immediately finished fifth. A great debut.
Do the Belgians have another candidate winner for the Enduro Pale of Le Touquet on February 3? What Jeremy Van Horebeek showed on Sunday in Grayan-et l'Hôpital, the penultimate round of the French beach racing championship, certainly leaves one hoping for the best!
Pure speed does not mean everything in this type of endurance work, but 'the Jerre' showed that he can handle the pace of the top riders. Only Yentel Martens, Nathan Watson and Daymond Martens set a faster lap. Moreover, this was Van Horebeek's very first race on the Honda…
Jeremy Van Horebeek: “This is all new to me. I have never done a beach race before. I had to learn everything for the first hour. That is why I am happy with this fifth place. Riding together with so many other riders and a race that lasted more than an hour, it was certainly an adjustment. I am proud of myself and the Honda SR team for what we have achieved over the past three weeks. Actually I really enjoyed it and I can't wait for Le Touquet where we will have everything ready. The intention is to go for the win there. We still have a few weeks to prepare, I'm looking forward to it!”
