Beach race Hossegor: Watson wins, Dewulf new leader
Turmoil in the fourth round of the French Beach Racing Championship in Hossegor! Milko Potisek crossed the finish line as leader. However, after the noise check, the Yamaha rider was unable to start. As a result, Nathan Watson was ultimately declared the winner. A regular Jeffrey Dewulf once again claimed a podium place.
After Camille Chapeliere's holeshot, there were still some unforeseen twists in Hossegor. Halfway through the race, Watson was well in front of Chapeliere and Potisek. However, the latter squeezed out a strong final and due to the rising sea, the race of 2 hours and 30 minutes was shortened by one lap!
Due to his problems with the sound control, Potisek was pushed back several places. As a result, Dewulf still climbed onto the podium. But that wasn't all because in the standings the KTM North Europe Racing rider is now joint leader together with Potisek! There was more positive Belgian news. Yentel Martens and Daymond Martens also performed well, finishing fourth and fifth respectively in the race. Considering the circumstances - heavy fall last week and a very bad start - Yentel's fourth place was a big boost! Read his response here.
Reigning champion Axel van de Sande had to settle for 13th place. Raf Belmans arrived 35th today. In the women's race, the Frenchwoman Estelle Bleuze won. Dewulf's teammate Petar Petrov had to deal with technical problems. The next match will be played in Grayan on January 7. This is the last dress rehearsal for the Enduro Pale of Le Touquet!
