More enduro for 2019 WESS calendar
After a first season that received a mixed reception, the World Enduro Super Series continues to grow. The 2019 calendar takes a decisive step towards classic enduro work at the expense of faster races such as the Gotland Grand National and the Red Bull Knock Out.
The Cross Country competition at Hawkstone Park remained on track. There are no fewer than three new events next season: a yet-to-be-determined classic enduro race in Italy, the Solsona enduro in Spain and finally the championship final with the GetzenRodeo at the beginning of November.
Extreme XL Lagares, the Erzberg Rodeo and Romaniacss provide the hard enduro counterweight. Also striking is the disappearance of the Red Bull 111 Megawatt in Poland! Rising star Billy Bolt was crowned the first WESS champion in Scheveningen last month.
WESS Managing Director Philipp Stossier stated: “After an incredibly successful debut season, we have worked tirelessly to create an Enduro Championship that will delight both riders and fans of the sport. We can't wait for the new WESS championship!”
– WESS Series Manager Winfried Kerschhaggl added: “Traditional Enduro has always been close to our hearts. That's why we've added Classic Enduro events to the World Enduro Super Series calendar.”
