Xavier Boog says goodbye!
As announced, Xavier Boog (Team Honda SR) rode his last professional race in Amnéville. The 30-year-old Frenchman can look back on a great career, although there was probably more to it at World Cup level. This summer, 'Boogie' took home a fifth Elite MX1 title.
The affable Boog, nicknamed 'sénateur', said goodbye to the GPs in 2014 after a serious neck and back injury. He certainly proved in his farewell year that the model professional lived for his sport until the end. In addition to his motocross title, he won, among other things, the SX Tour round of Brienon. Yesterday he also scored a holeshot! Xavier won one GP in MX3, took several GP podiums and was selected twice for the French MXoN team.
The Alsacien competed for Inotec Ortema Suzuki, the Kawasaki factory team, Ice One KTM and 24MX Honda, among others. In 2012 he became MX1 rookie of the year and triumphed in the second round of the Brazilian GP. Xavier previously stated that he is finding it increasingly difficult to take the risks necessary to be at the front and that he wants to make more time for his family. The MXMag editorial team wishes Boog a successful conversion after his top sports career!
