Weston Peick injury update
Kelly Cleland, the fiancée of Weston Peick's, provided an update on the JGR Suzuki rider's health on Instagram. The American crashed hard on Saturday evening in the Paris Supercross.
Although the hard blow (see video below) could have had much worse consequences, Peick still faces a very long road to full recovery. Weston suffered no fewer than 10 major fractures to his face. He is currently still under anesthesia after his first surgery. During that operation, Peick's broken jaw was reconstructed so that he can breathe through his neck again. Due to the serious interventions, the unfortunate Suzuki star pilot will have to complete a long and painful rehabilitation.
Without getting ahead of ourselves, it seems completely impossible at the moment that we will see Peick at the start in Anaheim 1. After all, the American SX Championship starts in 46 days... In any case, we wish Weston and his family the best of luck and hope that the popular powerhouse is recovering well! Below is the original message from Weston's fiancée.
