Brylyakov alongside Strijbos at JWR Racing Yamaha
MXGP rookie Vsevolod Brylyakov will join Kevin Strijbos next year JWR Yamaha Racing. The determined Russian will ride all European MXGP races and the Chinese World Championship rounds in April.
Due to injuries, 'Seva' was unable to show what he has to offer in the last two seasons. Yet the hard-working pilot is (rightly) picked up again by Yamaha. In addition to the GPs, the Swedish MX2 races are also on Brylyakov's calendar. Since Strijbos takes care of the MX1 races in the Swedish championship, JWR Yamaha Racing is resolutely aiming for the double in their home country!
Vsevolod Brylyakov: "Finally! I am super happy to announce my new deal with JWR Yamaha Racing. It will be my first year in the MXGP class and to be honest, I'm really looking forward to it! I have had difficult years, with two major injuries, so it will not be easy to compete against the strongest riders in the world. But I haven't never been afraid of hard work and I believe in myself. My knee feels better and stronger every day. I can't wait to ride the YZ450F!”
Johan Westermark (Team Manager): “Vsevolod Brylyakov is a great addition to JWR Yamaha Racing team in 2019. Despite the various injuries he has suffered in recent years, he has continuously shown his speed. And it is also a popular driver. We are really looking forward to bringing out the best in him next season.”
