Motor club Gemert affected by theft!
MAC Saint Christopher in Gemert has been severely damaged. This week, strangers took 50 crowd barriers from the club's cross-country terrain on the Energieweg. The fences were not on the grounds of the motorcycle club itself, but on the other side of the Energieweg, against the wall of another company building. "We often put them there, that's just practical because we often need the fences," says Rien van Hoogstraten, vice-chairman of MAC St. Christoffel. Eindhoven Daily.
The last time the fences were used was two weeks ago during the annual meeting of MC De Kleppenjagers. “When I was here on Tuesday afternoon, they were still there, but a day later they were gone.” Van Hoogstraten thinks that the thieves took the fences for scrap metal. "They must have had a trailer with them, otherwise you wouldn't get such a batch."
Ironmongers
"We have inquired with several iron farmers in the region, they say they know nothing. But I honestly think that there are also iron farmers who are not interested in where such a batch of fences comes from.”
The club is not insured and is now in financial trouble. “Because we can't actually do without those fences.” In any case, Van Hoogstraten has filed a report with the police. He also wants to see whether camera images have been taken from surrounding business buildings. "But I don't assume that we will get the fences back. Unfortunately."
