The Mesters family from Waalre is betting on son Bradley's talent.
Bradley Masters, an 11-year-old motocross rider Waalre, wins one championship after another. He does everything for the cross. And Fortnite.
There were already quite a few prizes on Bradley's bedside table when the Waalrenaar became Dutch Motocross champion in the 8 CC class at the age of 50. Congratulations came from all over Europe and even from America. Then, in 2015, the student was no longer a stranger to the world of motocross. The HMX No Fear Husqvarna rider has now been to Denmark, Finland, the Czech Republic and Australia. Here he competed for podium places with the best riders from around the world.
“Bradley has real talent,” says father Huub Mesters. And he should know, because he has always been active in motorsports himself. “But only one in the family can race. We're betting on Bradley. Few people really break through in this sport, but our son has everything to offer and we support him where we can.”
Mother Linda can still see it clearly: her 3-year-old riding around in the riders' quarters with his balance and scooter bike: "It was striking that he was already able to keep his balance so well and could steer very well. Six months later he received an electric motor from us.”
KTM Mini
And it didn't stop there. The three-time Dutch champion often saw his father and his fellow cross-country skiers on the track and also at competitions. At the age of six, Bradley also wanted his own motorcycle. Mesters senior, with a laugh: "He then got a KTM mini, a real motorcycle. He drove it around the field, but I didn't really have time to keep an eye on it. To get rid of it, I promised him that he would get a competition motorcycle when he was seven. And a starting license. Of course he remembered that.”
Bradley turned out to be a bitch, had the talent and was on the podium more and more often after a cross. The sponsor and supporter base continued to grow.
While his parents proudly tell their story, the subject of conversation looks a bit bored. All that chatter. He would like to take off that warm suit again and, before he 'later' becomes world champion in the premier class of motocross, play Fortnite for a while.
