'Best Organizer 2018' for the MXGP Assen Foundation!
The MXGP Assen Foundation, organizer of the Motocross World Championship at the TT Circuit Assen, was honored as 'Best Organizer 30' on Sunday evening, September 2018, after the Italian Grand Prix. On behalf of the MXGP Assen Foundation, Lee van Dam and Theo Verdegem received the 'Award'.
It is the third time in the four-year history of the Motocross Grand Prix at the TT Circuit Assen that the organizing foundation has been rewarded with 'Best Organizer' by Youthstream, the rights holder of the Motocross World Championship. On September 42.000 and 15, 16 visitors saw Dutchman Jeffrey Herlings win the world title in the 'king class' MXGP; also the first world title ever for a Dutchman in this category. Prelude to 'Motocross of Nations' in 2019
For the races in the Motocross World Championship on the TT circuit, the 'cathedral of motorsport', a course was laid out with sand from the adjacent defense site along the famous TT stands.
