Victory for Tim Leferink & Sam Veldman.
Tim Leferink/Sam Veldman won the day during the National Sidecar Championships in Geldermalsen. They achieved first and second place in the heats. Second place went to René Stalman/Joep van Leuken. After finishing seventh in the first heat, they managed to win the second heat. Sven Wisselink/Bart Sloot were the most consistent duo of the day, taking third place twice in the heats. They also finished third in the daily rankings.
First heat
Iljen Kops/Pim Lambrechts were the fastest at the start. They were followed by Ton van Keulen/Stephan Wijers, Durk-Jan Tjoelker/Ard Klein Nijenhuis and Leferink/Sloot. Tjoelker/Klein Nijenhuis had lost two places after two laps. It was Leferink/Veldman and Wisselink/Sloot who had passed them by. Both duos had also passed Keulen/Wijers after four laps. Leferink/Veldman also passed Kops/Lambrechts on the eighth lap to take the heat victory. Kops/Lambrechts crossed the finish line in a nice second place ahead of Wisselink/Sloot. Van Keulen/Wijers lost another place to Tjoelker/Klein Nijenhuis and finished fifth.
Second heat
Now the holeshot was for Sven Smit/Niels Wesselink, ahead of van Keulen/Wijers, Stalman/van Leuken and Kops/Lambrechts. From the third lap onwards, Smit/Wesselink fell back one place for four consecutive laps. The first duo to pass them was Kops/Lambrechts, followed by Stalman/van Leuken, Leferink/Veldman and Wisselink/Sloot. Kops/Lambrechts led for five laps, after which they also fell back. Stalman/van Leuken were the first to pass them, followed by Leferink/Veldman. In the last round Kops/Lambrechts ran into problems and lost three places, leaving them outside the top five. Stalman/van Leuken just managed to stay ahead of Leferink/Veldman to end the round winning. Wisselink/Sloot crossed the line in third place ahead of Keulen and Wijers who, after taking a break, rode back to fourth place. Smit/Wesselink finished fifth due to the problems of Kops/Lambrechts.
In the National Championship standings, Wisselink/Sloot rise one place at the expense of Boeve/Sellis. Leferink/Veldman pass the Frisian duo Tjoelker/Klein Nijenhuis and Heurkens/de Graauw pass van Rooij/Senders.
