Rockstar Energy Husqvarna back on the podium!
The riders of the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team managed to get on the podium again. Thomas Covington finished second in the overall standings ahead of Thomas Kjer Olsen. The duo from JM Racing talk about their weekend at the famous TT circuit of Assen. In two weeks, the final race for the world championship will be held in Imola, Italy.
Commentary Thomas Covington: “The weekend didn't start well on Saturday, but I managed to turn this into a good result on Sunday. I crashed hard in the qualifying heat, causing a hole in my radiator and I did not reach the finish. In both motos I had to start from the outside and it seemed almost impossible to get a good start. Still, I managed to get a good start in both motos and entered the first corner in the top three. In the rest of the moto I did my best to ride as consistently as possible. The track was very treacherous and it was important not to get into trouble. I thought I rode too carefully in the first moto but in the second moto I had to go deep. It's great that the complete Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team was on the podium again here in Assen."
Commentary Thomas Kjer Olsen: “The driving was good all weekend. I had a good feeling on the track in both motos but unfortunately I made a mistake in the second moto. I wasn't happy with my riding in the qualifying heat but I knew that if I could get a good start in the heats, I could fight for the podium places. I got two good starts and the riding felt great. I'm happy to be on the podium for the second GP. I am satisfied with my weekend here in the Netherlands and our eyes are now focused on the final of the championship in Imola."
