Motorsport.tv is finally stopping!
The website Totaal TV announced a few weeks ago that the sports channel motorsport.tv failed to reach a new agreement with the French Canal+. Now this appears to be the reason for the complete stop of the motorsport channel in Europe!
Motorsport.tv started broadcasting under the name Motors TV in 2000. After a turbulent period, the channel was acquired by Motorsport Networks in November 2016. After the takeover, the name was changed to Motorsport.tv. But within two years after the takeover, the curtain fell on the motorsport channel. Part of the reason for the decision is the failure to agree on a new distribution agreement with the French provider Canal+. As a result, the channel also disappeared from the offer of the Dutch provider Canal Digitaal.
Ziggo
Motorsport.tv will stop broadcasting linear programs throughout Europe at the end of September. Until then, the channel can be viewed unencrypted via the Astra2 satellite. Motorsport.tv can also be viewed until then on some Dutch providers - including Ziggo. KPN stopped transmitting the channel more than a year ago when it turned out that the number of Interactive TV subscribers who regularly watched the sports channel was disappointing.
