Jake Weimer announces his retirement!
After 13 seasons Jake Weimer decided to hang up the helmet. The 30-year-old rider has thought about it for a long time, but he thinks it was great! This year the motocross rider from Idoha was supposed to compete for Team SmartOp-MotoConcepts-Honda, but a serious injury decided otherwise! Weimer's most important victories is winning the Motocross of Nations in 2009 and the AMA Supercross WestCoast title a year later.
In his youth, Weimer rode for Suzuki, but in 2006 he made his debut at the highest level for Team Factory Connection-Honda. After three seasons, he switched to Team Pro Circuit-Kawasaki, where he narrowly missed out on the WestCoast title. A year later it happened. With this title he moves to Team MonsterEnergy-Kawasaki, with which he finished fifth in the AMA Supercross Series in 2012. Weimer has recorded nine Supercross victories in his career, the last coming in 2010 when he won the East-West Shoot-Out in Las Vegas.
