EMX300: Kras wins but Anderson is European champion again.
Mike Kras did what he had to do by making the most of the second series. Anderson was not allowed to score higher than fourteenth place so that Kras would still have a chance to celebrate the title.
At the start, the Dutchman was alert and immediately found himself in the front ranks. The Czech Vaclav Kovar was also there in second position, with our compatriot Erik Willems in his wake. The Estonian Lusbo left fourth. This train of four would determine the pace of the series. Greg Smets didn't get off the starting blocks very well and ended up thirteenth after one lap. Kovar had to give up two places halfway through, Willems moved to the front in the wake of the three leaders.
Brad Anderson who had a tough weekend with a broken finger finished ninth. Mike Kras won the series but looked back as he passed to see where Anderson would finish. He fought back the pain and was able to maintain ninth place at the finish. Anderson thus succeeds himself as European EMX300 champion. Scratch stranded on just five points and Erik Willems was able to achieve a nice bronze in this European Championship.
