Ebben and Cuppen at the start at the De Kuilen circuit
CCM The Sand Hares has closed after the forced cancellation of the traditional MON Opening Competition in March circuit park De Kuilen received a new date from Motorsport Organization Netherlands. There will be competitions for the ProX NK youth on Saturday, September 22. The Kids and Sidecars, Wet Piston, TM Cup and the Free Class will also compete. There will be a National 23MX National Championship race on Sunday, September 24. Then the MX2/Open Inters, MX2 Nationals and MX2 Seniors will ride, as well as the MX Open Juniors, the Open Seniors and Open Nationals. In addition, the Quad Inters/Nationals will be in action for the National Championships.
Saturday
It is unique for the CCM that the youth classes in Mill ride for the National Championship points and that our own riders also participate. Club member Jesse van Daal from Wilbertoord rides in the 65cc Large wheels and Stijn Schipstal rides in the 85cc Large wheels. The Kids and Sidecars is a very nice class in which the youngest drivers show their talents. This has already resulted in many top athletes and Bjorn and Sten van den Heuij from the St. Anthonis region are currently also participating, from which Denise and Sven van Dommelen also come.
Sunday
The main part of the program is held on Sunday with club members in various classes who of course like to ride at their beloved home race De Kuilen. For example, CCM members Mark van den Bungelaar and Marcel Willemse compete in the MX Open Juniors. Riny Engels from Wanroij also has a starting license but is race leader in Mill. Mark van den Bungelaar must uphold the family honor because Jurgen is still recovering from, among other things, a broken pelvis and a fractured sacrum and collarbone. Roy Jansen also has a starting permit for this class.
After a long time, local hero Tom Reijnen from St. Hubert will be participating again at the MX2 Nationals. He recently took a starting permit, we are curious whether he can still do it after a long absence. Club member Jorn Weeren also rides in this class. Joost Cornelissen from Cuijk participates in the MX Open Nationals as a member of the CCM with various riders from the region. Three members of the Zandhazen compete in the MX2 Seniors: Maik Toonen from Odiliapeel, Tijn Swiers from Langenboom and Emiel Thoonen from Gassel. Tijn Swiers is doing very well and is sixth in the standings. From the immediate region also Sam Smid from Grave and from Zeeland Martin Peters and Bart and Tom Cissen. Sebastien Gaus is aiming for a podium place in the MX Open Seniors. A 'Zandhaas' in the person of Rogier op 't Hoog also competes at the Quad Nationals.
Inters classes with KNMV toppers
The battle in the combined Inters MX2 and Inters Open will mainly be between the leader in the standings René Albers from Groesbeek, Jacky Tausch and Joshua van der Linden. But undoubtedly drivers such as Davey Janssen, Ronnie van Rooij, Mike van den Bogaert and many others will also contribute. Henk Pater, Levi Schoonderbeek and Mike Heijmans are the riders to beat in the MX2 Inters. And the strong regional toppers Kay Ebben from Wilbertoord and multiple IMBA champion John Cuppen from Escharen are also present. Both are riding KNMV this year and have a competition in Arnhem on Saturday. Ebben is second in the standings, both also ride the European EMX series. But they don't want to miss Mill, where they also rode the Dutch Masters this year.
Accessible
Enthusiasts can enjoy great motorsport cheaply, the competitions have an accessible character. The entrance for adults is only €5 on Saturdays and on Sundays the entrance is €7,50 and you can park close to Circuit De Kuilen, accessible from the Fazantenweg, located on the Mill - Langenboom road.
