Kevin Fors dominates MX Festival Wachtebeke!
The second MX Festival at the Provincial Domain Puyenbroeck was a perfect fit for Kevin Fors. Last year Fors just missed the final podium, this time he was successful with a resounding double series victory, each time for Dietger Damiaens! Mark Boot beat Tim Louis in the quarter liters.
The provincial domain of Wachtebeke was again visited for the joint VJMO-FPCNA-MCLB-BMB Interbond competition. Despite the favorable circumstances, there was a remarkably low turnout.
The enthusiasm for this great initiative also turned out to be rather limited among the Inters. Kevin Fors, second in La Chinelle last week, left his mark on this BC round from the morning on. David Segers stormed to the holeshot on the first lap with Daymond Martens, Kebin Fors and Roy Sillien in his wheel. Fors wasted no time and took the lead in the second round. The Reytec-Husqvarna pilot pulled hard and opened a gap. Dietger Damiaens may have had comparable lap times, but he had to come from too far away to worry Fors and finished second, well ahead of Roy Sillien. The author of the holeshot, David Segers, still clearly felt the after-effects of La Chinelle. To make matters worse, he crashed at the end of the race and hurt his hand. hand. Mad Dave did not start again in the second series. A similar fate befell Jurgen Wybo. Wybo was fast in qualifying but crashed on the first lap of the first moto and hurt his hand. After that, Jurgen would not start again.
The same tenors, Fors and Damiaens, once again demanded attention in the revival. This time Fors controlled the entire match. The former Belgian MX2 champion took the lead from start to finish. Yet it could have turned out very differently. After all, the fastest man in the race was Dietger Damiaens, who now ended up in second place early on. Due to a mistake three laps from the end, Dietger had to leave the victory to Fors again. In the BK 500cc standings, however, Damiaens remains comfortably in the saddle with a lead of 43 points over Roy Sillien.
In his opinion, the patented quick starter Mark Boot (photo below) always had a bad start. In the first heat he had to narrowly leave Tim Louis ahead. However, in the second sprint the roles were reversed, meaning the Mikkola Racing rider also took the overall victory in the 250cc class. With which Boot ended a perfect weekend because yesterday he won the first round of the Open Zeeland Championship ahead of Mike Bolink and Jordan-Lee van Maaren!
