Jed Beaton to Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing!
We are still waiting for the official press release, but it is now clear that Jed Beaton (20) will replace Thomas Covington at Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing. Covington returns to the US where he will compete for Bobby Hewitt's official Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team.
The likeable Beaton scored his first GP podium at the end of last year as a substitute for HRC Honda, although he started his European adventure in the EMX250 with Carglass Honda. In 2018, Jed had a strong rookie season with F&H Racing Team until he broke his leg in Matterley Basin. Just before the British GP he was surprisingly fifth in the World Championship.
The former Australian MX2 champion achieved his second World Championship podium in Portugal. After he suffered a broken leg and ankle in England in early June, his rehabilitation went well. As a result, Beaton will soon be able to resume motorcycle training. Jed Beaton will be the teammate of Thomas-Kjer Olsen in 2019, who will also be under contract with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna next year.
In the meantime, the rumor mill about Beaton's replacement at F&H Racing Team is also running at full speed. Speculation about possible riders for the top Kawasaki team has increased even more now that it was announced this week that Ruben Fernandez is leaving the Dutch team!
