Brad Anderson takes victory in direct match!
After a great battle with Mike Kras, Brad Anderson has won the sixth race of the European 300cc Championship. GL12 Racing driver Kras (1-2) finishes second in the daily standings ahead of GasGas driver Vaclav Kovar (4-3). Erik Willems is also the best Belgian during the second round, the Husqvarna rider comes fourth. Thanks to 'Ando''s victory, the Briton travels to the final in Italy with a 27-point lead.
Kras also makes the best start in the second moto, but Anderson takes the lead on the first lap. Willems and Manuel Iacopi battle for third place in the initial phase. Anderson sets the pace and Kras chases to increase the pressure after more than fifteen minutes of the match. Positions are regularly changed and the duo also comes into contact with each other. The 17-year-old Anderson is of course very crafty and returns to the lead time and time again. When Kras tries to pick up speed on the outside bend, he briefly misses the right track, causing him to get into trouble. Fortunately, he manages to avoid a crash, but the connection with the leader is lost. At almost the same moment, Kovar connects with Willems and a fight ensues. Kovar is the strongest and he comes second ahead of Willems and Iacopi. Youri van t Ende crosses the finish line in seventh place and Greg Smets, who is suffering from a shoulder injury, finishes ninth. Despite a good start, Ronny van Hove finishes thirteenth and his compatriot Tallon Verhelst does not finish due to engine trouble.
The final will have to wait a month, the last race of this EMX300 is on September 29-30 in Imola.
