Best GP performance for Marshal Weltin!
On Thursday, Adam Sterry, in consultation with the F&H Racing Team, decided not to ride the KX250F this weekend. The Brit suffered another injured ankle during training earlier this week. The same ankle that the 21-year-old rider hurt during the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Mill. Adam will undergo further tests in the coming week to see whether he can start in Bulgaria. With Adam's failure, all eyes were on Marshal Weltin. The American (photo) who was used again by the South Holland team after his strong performance in Lommel. The 22-year-old rider managed to score 25 points and thus achieved his best GP performance ever! The victory went to Spaniard Jorge Prado who continues to lead the championship.

After a neat tenth place during qualifying on Saturday, Marshal went into the race full of confidence. The start of the first heat is good and he starts the race over 30 minutes and two laps in seventh place. In the third round Flanders passes and Watson also follows a little later. Marshal continues to follow the high pace and manages to regain eighth place after about ten minutes. He manages to maintain this ranking until the finish flag falls. This of course resulted in satisfied faces among the Kawasaki team, which did not see their regular riders in action due to injuries.

Having only just recovered from the first heat, Marshal has to get back to work for the last race of the weekend. The BO Oil-lubricated Kawasaki takes off very well after dropping from the starting gate. Marshal comes out of the first corner in sixth place and then manages to gain a spot on the first lap! In the first full lap, Lawrence managed to take over fifth place from Marshal and later Covington and Rodriguez also followed. Marshal had to go deep in the first round and he is now paying the price for that. In the second half of the race, the friendly American managed to recover well and ninth place was no longer in danger. Tired but satisfied, Marshal returns to the beautiful team truck where he is welcomed with applause by the entire team.
