Jens Van Meer 2018 Inters 500 VLM champion!
The drizzly weather in Opglabbeek today could not spoil the fun. Thanks to two second places behind Yentel Martens, BeTeMo rider Jens van Meer secured his first Inters title at VLM today!
Although there are still two races to go, Houtvenne and Reet, 23-year-old Van Meer is already mathematically certain of the championship! The pupil of coach David Cools dominated the entire championship and linked speed to regularity. After Opglabbeek, Jens has a whopping 111 points lead over the second Kevin Van Geldorp. The 2017 champion, Kenny Janssens, follows with 123 points.
Congratulations to Jens, his entire team, all supporters and sponsors! A full report from Opglabbeek will follow later.
