Weiss-Schneider and Baumgartner win first IMBA Austrian.
For the first time, an IMBA competition took place in Austria. In Feldkirch the MX 2 and the sidecars started under warm conditions and in front of a large audience. In the sidecars, the victory went to the Austrians Benjamin Weiss & Patrick Schneider with two heat victories and a fourth place. In second and third place the podium turned orange. With a third, second and first place, it was Mike Keuben & Lars De Laat (Ned) who took second place. They stayed ahead of Frank Mulders Henry v/d Wiel, who twice achieved a fourth and a third place in the heats. It was a difficult day for the Belgian combinations. The best combination turned out to be Jeroen Tesseur & Ben Martens with ninth place in the daily rankings.
In the European Championship standings, Mike Keuben & Lars de Laat are the new leaders with an eleven-point lead over Frank Mulders & Henry van de Wiel. In third place are the Swiss Marco Boller & Marius Strauss.
In the MX2 class, only riders with a SAM license were on the podium. The Swiss Andy Baumgartner achieved second place in the first heat, but with the two subsequent heat victories he became the winner of the day. Luca Bruggmann from Liechtenstein finished second in the daily rankings with a first, second and sixth place. He was just ahead of local hero Alex Andreis. The Austrian twice achieved a third and a second place in the heats. Leader in the standings Ray Rowson strengthened his lead in the standings of the European Championship. The rider from Great Britain finished fourth in the daily rankings. The best Belgian was Glenn Bielen with an eighth place overall. the only Dutch representative Dann Bolink took 22nd place.
