Strong return for Rene de Jong!
During the icy cold Grand Prix in Valkenswaard Rene de Jong injured. The North Hollander made his return in a very hot Lelystad, and with success! On the circuit of MC Flevoland De Jong (photo) won KNMV Open Dutch Championship 250cc. The KTM rider finished second and first, which gave him the day's victory ahead of James Carpenter (1-2) and Kay Ebben (3-3). Made last week in Emmen Luca Nijenhuis after he got injured in Oldebroek. The Honda rider finished sixth in Drenthe, but in Lelystad he won both heats in the 500cc class. With the SKS Racing Husqvarna, Lars van Berkel (3-2) finished second ahead of Hutten Metaal rider Sven van der Mierden (2-3).
