MXGP: Jeffrey Herlings delivers a hard blow!
Jeffrey Herlings won the first round of the Asian Grand Prix in Semarang. The 23-year-old rider had to get up to operating temperature, but he still managed to triumph! Tim Gajser is in the lead for a long time, but has to be satisfied with second place ahead of Antonio Cairoli, who manages to limit the damage despite his thumb injury. The best Belgian is Clement Desalle, who crosses the finish line in fourth place. Jeremy Vanhorebeek finishes sixth and Glenn Coldenhoff crosses the finish line in eighth.

Herlings almost wins the FOX Holeshot Award, but things almost go wrong for the Brabander on the first jump. Cairoli takes over the award and the leadership from Herlings, who is followed by Desalle, Gautier Paulin and Romain Febvre. It is impossible to describe how Gasjer does it, but the Honda rider passes Febvre, Paulin, Desalle and Herlings in the first half lap! The first time over the start-finish line, Cairoli is the leader, but one lap later the lead belongs to the Slovenian! A number of mistakes in a row cause Paulin and Febvre to miss the redplate holder. Desalle then also tries to pass by Herlings, who manages to prevent this. In the first half of the match, Herlings battles past Paulin and Febvre to connect with Cairoli. Where Febvre and Desalle managed to pass as drivers, Herlings managed to pass the Italian nine-time world champion for second place. Gasjer has a lead of more than seven seconds over Herlings, but that is not enough! In ten minutes Herlings clears his deficit and takes the lead! The next victory is a fact and a very important one because Gasjer comes second ahead of Cairoli, who therefore loses five points. Desalle finished fourth after a battle with IceOne Racing rider Paulin.
