Heat victories decisive in women's class.
During the MON youth competition in Eyrie the program was supplemented with, among other things, a National Championship competition for the women's class. On circuit De Reulsberg the heat victories proved to be of decisive importance. Lianne Muilwijk won the race with a fourth and first place in the heats. Based on the second round, she stayed ahead of Lakerveld racing driver Amber Simons, who took first and fourth place in the rounds. Team Eccomaxx rider Demi Verploegh completed the podium with a third and second place in the heats.
First heat
The best start was for Amber Simons and Britt Jans-Beken. They were followed by Lianne Muilwijk and Demi Verploegh. Halfway through the heat, Muilwijk took second place from Jans-Beken and started the attack on Simons. Muilwijk fell and fell back behind Verploegh. Simons won the round ahead of teammate Jans-Beken. Verploegh did well in the championship with her third place, which put her ahead of Muilwijk and Cynthia Swets.
Second heat
Muilwijk immediately took control with the holeshot and slowly but surely built up a lead. She ended the round winning. Behind her, Jans-Beken and Verploegh battled for second place. Ultimately it was Verploegh who managed to stay ahead of Jans-Beken and took over the championship lead from Swets. Amber Simons had a mediocre start during the heat. The Limburg woman did not give up and she fought past Swets to fourth place in the heat.
In the net standings of the MON women's class 2018, Verploegh takes over the lead from Swets. With her second place in the daily rankings, Simons comes closer to the top two ladies. Sam van de Ven drops out of the top 5 due to an injury. This place is now taken over by Jans-Beken, who passed Samanta Josta and is now fourth.
