Long holiday for Sam van de Ven…
Sam, who came into serious contact with the surface in Geldermalsen, has now completed a second visit to the hospital. The doctors' verdict is harsh for our recently graduated Oirschot student. Do not drive a motorcycle for at least six weeks and do exercises under strict supervision to repair her shoulder and the large muscle tear.
During her fall, a muscle absorbed the blow so hard that it tensed completely, causing a piece of bone in the shoulder to crack. As a result, Sam cannot move her arm smoothly and there is a chance that if she does start driving, there will be even more damage and a certain operation would follow. The aim is to strengthen the surrounding muscles through exercises and give the cracks sufficient time to heal.
No nice information, Sam assures us, but it is and remains a sport in which you encounter good and bad luck along the way. Furthermore, the smiling Sam told us that she is very happy with the many expressions of support and that she will take the necessary time to fully recover. We therefore hope that Van de Ven will appear behind the starting gates sometime in September.
