Covington took pole position without any problems.
For the fourth time this year, Thomas Covington will start from pole position. The American managed to take victory in Loket ahead of Jago Geerts and Stefan Kjer Olsen. Not a good race for the leaders in the FIM MX2 World Championship standings; Pauls Jonass and Jorge Prado. The KTM riders run into problems early in the race and have to settle for a supporting role.
In the qualifying race over 20 minutes and two laps, Geerts takes the best start. He is passed by Covington in the second corner. Stephen Rubini follows in third place ahead of Bas Vaessen and Henry Jacobi. The top three are stuck for almost twenty minutes, but then Kjer Olsen arrives. The Dane needs some time to get the right pace but comes back to third place. Ben Watson finishes fourth ahead of his fellow countryman Adam Sterry! The F&H Racing driver is performing very well and the collaboration with Marc de Reuver is starting to pay off. Vaessen becomes the best Dutchman, despite a collision with Jacobi, he still crosses the finish line in thirteenth place.
Both MotorsportTV and Eurosport2 broadcast the races LIVE! The broadcasts start at 13 p.m. with the first round of MX2. The MXGP races can be followed via the NOS Studio Sport website, Playsport Telenet customers can watch the MXGP races on TV from 14 p.m.!
