Circuit De Herselse Bossen will continue to exist!
Good news for that MAC Lierop and all motocross enthusiasts, the circuit 'The Herselse Bossen' keeps existing! The activities are decreasing, but the Brabant motorcycle club can continue to exist in a slimmed-down form. National competitions may be organized three to four times a year on the circuit on the A67. This can be concluded from two statements that the Council of State made today (July 18). This shows that the activities on the MAC site partly fall under transitional law.
The rulings of the highest administrative court also show that members and non-members of the club are allowed to train on the track shortly before the matches to reconnoitre the grounds. For the Council of State, 'shortly before the competition' means two to three weeks. A small number of residents have been trying to close the MAC Lierop cross track for years. According to local residents, the use is illegal because no permit has been granted. The judge ruled them right, but MAC Lierop did not simply give up.
MAC Lierop then pulled out all the stops to prove that the cross track has been used for years and that at least those old rights must be respected. Organizing GP competitions is not covered by the transitional law.
