Bobryshev dominates the only series in the British championship
We puff and roast in subtropical Belgium, but in Scotland it is just nice, rock-solid Scottish weather. Fog and rain, a lot of rain, plagued the fifth round of the British Motocross Championship. As a result, even in the middle of the race program, only one stroke was made.
In the MX1 class they were unlucky that they could only take action once. In this series it was the Russian Evgeny Bobryshev, who plays in the British championship for the Lombard Express Suzuki team, who managed to take the victory. The Russian battering ram took the holeshot and then steamed through the mud to victory ahead of Italian Ivo Monticelli and Brad Anderson. Championship leader Jake Nicholls finished fourth, a good result knowing that the Buildbase Honda pilot had to take his overheated Honda into account early in the race. In fifth place we found Ryan Houghton ahead of Tommy Searle who clearly chose his money's worth and took no risks.
The MX2 class was a little more lucky, or unlucky, you can decide for yourself. Because these gentlemen and boys were allowed into the field twice. In the first moto the Scottish fans present saw Joshua Gilbert win, while in the second moto a certain Jay Hague was the fastest. However, both men were not steadfast enough to fight for the day's victory. This went to Mel Pocock, who had a fourth place in the first heat and a third place in the second heat to hold off Martin Barr and Josh Spinks. Although holding off is a strong word, because all three of these pilots scored 38 points, it was Mel Pocock who managed to take the lead by posting the better second series of the three. This saw the REVO Husqvarna UK win its first overall since Canada Heights in 2014.
