WMX: Nancy van de Ven takes care of the Wilhelmus!!
Nancy van de Ven took care of the Wilhelmus on the sand circuit of Ottobiano. The Yamaha rider won the fourth race of the season with a third and first place. The Zeeland girl wins ahead of Kiara Fontanesi (1-3) and Courtney Duncan (2-2). Shana van der Vlist's performance was also very impressive, the Apeldoorn native finished fifth in the daily rankings!
Papenmeier also took the FOX Holeshot Award in the second round, followed by Duncan, Verstappen, Van de Ven and Fontenesi. While Verstappen drops back to sixth place, Van de Ven works his way up to Papenmeier's rear wheel. For a moment it seems that the Vlissingen will immediately take over the lead, but the German manages to prevent that. The Suzuki remains in the lead for Van de Ven and Duncan in the first half of the race, while Fontanesi also has the ladies in view. After eleven minutes Van de Ven manages to take over the lead and not much later Duncan also passes the small fast starter. For a moment Duncan seems to be dangerous for the leader, but she steps up her game and takes distance! The second round is won by Van de Ven ahead of Duncan and Fontanesi. Papenmeier is also fourth in this round, now ahead of Verstappen and Van der Vlist comes back very nicely to sixth place after a poor start. Another good performance by Lynn Valk who now finished ninth! Eline Burgmans (13th), Kimberly Braam (17th) and Lianne Muilwijk (18th) score this round.
The ladies have it quiet for the time being, the next competition is on September 15-16 at the TT Circuit of Assen.
