Early end for top poster VMCF in Paal
Already last week the VMCF federation was flooded with riders and in Paal it became even busier this weekend, with the maximum being reached in almost all categories. It made for an overloaded program that came to an abrupt end due to a heavy fall by Steve Seronval, who saw his motorcycle land on a spectator in the final series, ending the race day immediately.
In any case, the inters provided the spectacle in Paal. Frederic Weigert dived into the obstacles fastest, but behind him it became a real drama. Steve Seronval miscalculated in the second corner and took ten riders to the ground in his fall. However, Weigert was quickly joined at the front by Jochem Walckiers, Jonas Salaets and Mark Boot, while Thomas Vermijl was also able to join his cart. The pace became even higher, which meant that an ill Jochem Walckiers had to drop out. Mark Boot also had to let the leaders go after he ran out of rear brakes, but Frederic Weigert was still not given a free track. Jonas Salaets and Thomas Vermijl rode smoothly past the reigning VMCF champion, with Jonas Salaets holding on well. He won the first heat ahead of Thomas Vermijl and Cedric Grobben, who had finished third from the background ahead of Frederic Weigert and Dennis Wagemans.
Unfortunately, the story of the final series was written quite quickly because Cedric Grobben immediately took the holeshot ahead of Frederic Weigert and Jochem Walckiers. We also found Mark Boot and Jonas Salaets at the top and then Steve Seronval's turbo came under pressure. The Suzuki rider went all out on the attack and quickly came into fourth place, but suddenly he lost control of the heat, causing a heavy fall and his bike hitting a spectator. The emergency services immediately recognized the seriousness of the accident and the red flag was raised for the second time. So the end of the round and Cedric Grobben became the winner ahead of Jonas Salaets and Frederic Weigert. In the MX2 class there was a victory for Jelle Verbruggen who joined David Foguenne and Kristof Van Vaerenbergh on the podium.
