Ruben van Lith extends lead in quads inters.
Ruben van Lith (Uden) was the big winner in the Quads Inters during the 24MX MON national motocross in Eersel. Van Lith won both heats and, due to bad luck, was significantly ahead of Gerco van de Craats (Voorthuizen) in the NK MON Quads Inters standings. Rob Aarts (Bladel) took second place and Johan Gommans (Oirlo) completed the podium.
In the first heat the holeshot went to Van Lith with Van de Craats in his wake. Both quickly took a lead over Valentino Roks (St. Willibrord) until Van de Craats opened the attack on van Lith in the second lap. Both riders came into contact with each other, the biggest victim being Van de Craats who fell back to fifth place. In the third lap Gommans, in third place, made a mistake and it was Aarts who took advantage of this. In the meantime, Roks had briefly taken over the lead from Van Lith, but a lap later it was Van Lith who took over the lead again. Van Lith now definitively opened up a gap and took the heat victory. Roks had to deal with Aarts who passed him on the eighth lap and claimed second place. In the last lap Gommans caught Roks' rear wheel, but a yellow flag situation ended Gommans' chances. Both had to take their foot off the gas and overtaking was no longer possible after this.
In the second heat, Van Lith was again the fastest, with Van de Craats behind him again. It did not come to a direct duel now. In the third round Van de Craats had to leave the race after a fall. The cause of this was a missing locking pin that had loosened a bolt. It was Aarts who ended up in second place, followed by Gommans. Aarts rode a strong race and managed to keep a pressing Gommans behind him. Roks crossed the finish line in fourth place.
In the quads nationals, the victory went to a very strong Mark van der Sanden (Luyksgestel). On his home circuit he won both heats by a wide margin ahead of Daan van Rijswijck (Oirlo). Tim van Wee (Hooglanderveen) completed the podium in this class.
Van Lith strengthened his leading position in the net standings of the National Championships. Aarts takes over second place from Van der Craats
