Lianne Muilwijk reigns supreme in women's class!
Lianne Muilwijk (Heukelum) won the women's class with a great display of power during the MON 24MX competition in Leusden. Muilwijk won both rounds at the Leusderheide circuit of MSV Salz with a big difference over the competition. Lakerveld Racing driver finished fourth and second in the heats Amber Simons (Well) in second place. Leader in the standings for the National Championships Cynthia Swets (Geldermalsen) completed the podium.
In the first heat, Muilwijk, Demi Verploegh (Kerkwijk) and Mandy Vogelzang (Staphorst) were the best at the start. Vogelzang soon had to let Swets pass and a few laps later it was also Britt Jans-Beken (Wanssum) who passed Vogelzang. Muilwijk meanwhile drove lap times that were 8 seconds faster than Verploegh and she had already built up a lead of 25 seconds after three laps. Verploegh in turn slowly but surely walked away from Swets and finished the heat behind Muilwijk in second place. The battle for third place was between Swets and Jans-Beken. This was decided in the eighth round by a fall by Jans-Beken. She also lost her fourth place to Simons, who came back to the front after a bad start.
In the second moto the holeshot was again for Muilwijk. Behind her were Simons and Lynn Kelders (Eersel). Once again Muilwijk was by far the strongest and behind her Simons rode a solid heat and finished second. Kelders was quickly passed by Sam van de Ven (Oirschot) and Jans-Beken. In the battle for third place, van de Ven and Jans-Beken crashed together and Samanta Josta (Gemert) and Swets benefited from this. In the final lap Swets managed to take over third place from Josta. Van de Ven managed to finish fifth. Verploegh had a difficult heat in which she crashed in the wave section and finished seventh behind Kelders.
