Kevin Fors wins MCLB in Oostkamp after an intense duel with Brackman
There were a lot of competitions this weekend and on many fronts. The organizers of the MCLB motocross competition in Oostkamp also experienced this. There were only 11 pilots at the starting gate of the inters category. A low point. No Ken De Dycker or Jeffrey Dewulf played in the ADAC, no Damon Graulus scored in the French championship. But many regulars were also not at the start, such as David Segers, Jorne Tytgat, Torpjorn van Hoe, Jurgen Wybo...
However, there is an expression in the cycling community that the race will be made by the drivers present and this is no different in motocross. In the first round we saw an exciting battle between Kevin Fors and Wietse Brackman. Both changed places several times, but at the end of the series it was Wietse Brackman who came out on top with less than a second margin over Kevin Fors and Junior Decouter.
In the second moto Wietse Brackman took the holeshot, but the Leon Sagaert Husqvarna pilot crashed in the second corner of the first lap. Reytec Husqvarna pilot Kevin Fors obviously took full advantage of this. He saw his opportunity and rode the series from “almost” start to finish to win not only this round but also the overall. Second was Wietse Brackman, who at one point came within three seconds of the leader in the race, but after a small collapse at the finish, he still conceded seven seconds to Kevin Fors. In third place we now found Kenny Dult at a respective distance.
At the Inters MX1 the day's victory went to Kevin Fors ahead of Wietse Brackman and Kenny Dult. There was no one present in the MX2 class and in the Inters Open class Michiel Vercauteren took home the largest bouquet of flowers and trophy.
