James Scott signs for KTM Diga Junior Racing
KTM Diga Junior Racing is proud to announce its partnership with New Zealand promise James Scott. The 16-year-old motocross rider will complete the current EMX125 season with the experienced Belgian team.
Scott, a former 85cc champion in his own country, showed his calling card at international level last weekend. In the fifth round of the EMX125 championship in Saint-Jean d'Angély, France, the Kiwi finished fourth overall. Two years ago, James already scored a second place in a heat during the British round of the EMX150. Ben Townley's protegee will normally make his competitive debut for KTM Diga Junior Racing during the Zwarte Cross round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Lichtenvoorde.
James Scott: “Sometimes things don't go the way you hoped. Unfortunately, I had the feeling that things didn't click very well with my previous team. Still, I am grateful to them for all the support and opportunities they have offered me. Now, however, I am completely focused on finishing the season as strong as possible with KTM Diga Junior Racing. The team has already prescribed me a strict physical and motor training program. I love that we're jumping right into it together! I know that a big challenge awaits me when we go to the deep sands of Lommel. We will do everything we can to be as strong as possible, both in terms of fitness and in terms of the setup of my bike.”
Dirk Saelen, KTM Diga Junior Racing team manager and owner: “We are pleased that James has chosen us to end his season in the best possible way. Even in the few days we have now worked together, it is clear that James is very motivated and eager. At the moment, sand courses are still a major focus, so we know what to expect for the next EMX125 competition! However, I think Scott can pick up a thing or two from Emil Weckman who is very fast in the sand. But the James Scott-Emil Weckman combination can also offer added value for both drivers for training on hard tracks.”
