Covington again on pole, Paws sixth!
Thomas Covington can also start from pole position in Ottobiano. The Husqvarna rider led the entire qualifying race. Jorge Prado-Garcia comes second ahead of Calvin Vlaanderen, who is again riding very strongly. Also a great race from Davy Pootjes, the 20-year-old LRT rider (photo) finished sixth just behind 'Redplate' holder Pauls Jonass.
In the race over 20 minutes and two laps, Covington takes the best start ahead of Prado-Garcia, Pootjes, Vlaanderen and Jonass. The reigning champion managed to work his way up to second place in the first half of the match. A little later Jonass makes a mistake and he falls silent for a moment. Prado takes over second place for Flanders and Ben Watson also catches Pootjes. Jonass is in fifth place, closely followed by Pootjes, who crosses the finish line in sixth place. Jago Geerts is the best Belgian, the student finishes tenth while Bas Vaessen finishes neatly fifteenth. Micha Boy de Waal crosses the finish line in 18th place, while Brent Vandoninck unfortunately does not finish after a fall.
