Yentel Martens dominates VLM in Lommel
The first part of BeTeMo's Pentecost Trophy / Belgium-Netherlands sidecar and quad confrontation in Lommel was exactly what Yentel Martens wanted at the Inters. The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna dominated again and took the win each time. Jens Van Meer (2-3) finished third ahead of the returning Cedric Grobben (4-2).
While Grobben was present again, unfortunately Wouter Van Massenhoven was not present as he suffered an ankle injury. Although Martens again took pole in the morning, his rival was now slightly closer and that trend was also continued in the series. Yentel was always in the lead from start to finish, but Van Meer and Grobben also went well.
Greg Smets, number three in the first heat, had a bad start in the second heat but still finished fifth, albeit well behind Dietger Damiaens. In the MX2, Thallon Caspermans (1-3) was the most regular ahead of Dieter Vromans (4-1). Tomorrow, championship classes for Juniors, Novices MX2, Novices MX1/MX3 A, Novices Open B, Novices Open C, Masters, Nationals Open and Inters Open are scheduled for tomorrow.
